Description
This project involved creating a hand-lettered poster featuring Anaïs Nin's poem "Risk." The design visually interprets the poem’s themes by illustrating the transition from a tight bud to a fully blossomed flower, mirroring the evolution expressed in the text.

Research
Before I began drawing, I analyzed various handwritten and typographic posters to understand their compositional qualities. This foundation informed my own composition, which I then filled with the poem's words. I created several rough sketches to experiment with different typeface combinations and layouts, refining my ideas until I reached a design I was satisfied with.

Challenges and Solutions
COMPOSITION BALANCE Challenge: Achieving a harmonious balance between the hand-lettered text and illustrative elements. Solution: Carefully consider the placement of words and illustrations to guide the viewer’s eye and enhance the overall flow. TYPEFACE COMBINATIONS Challenge: Selecting the right combination of typefaces to convey the poem's themes. Solution: Experimented with various typefaces and styles in my sketches to find combinations that complemented the poem's emotional depth.
